Beverly Ritz's third CD, LACEY MAE, makes it clear that this artist represents the West Coast Cool school, along with Modern Impressionism. In addition to 3 of her compositions, Ritz has recorded the music of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Richard Rodgers (with the influence of McCoy Tyner), George Gershwin, and Marian McPartland! The beautiful liner notes by renowned jazz critic Scott Yanow paint a lovely picture of the treasures in this album.
